Hi,
I was wondering if anyone on here takes any prescriptions (Armour or Synthroid) in addition to the
Iodine protocol. I have been taking 5-6 mg. of
Lugol's for 2 1/2 months, and it did help, I have an easier time waking up, am warmer, body temp has gone up to a normal temp, no more hair loss, etc. However, it hasn't helped with the tiredness and fatigue and I'm still at the point where I can't function without taking naps a few times a day. I've tried increasing it, figuring I'm not taking enough, but when I get up to around 12 mg a day, it does the opposite.. my body temp drops, I get more tired, very irritable, etc... it's almost like not taking any
Iodine at all. I am VERY sensitive to any type of vitamins or minerals, I cannot take multi-vitimins, etc. I don't do well on any large doses of anything. I've tried the companion vitamins with it and haven't noticed it getting any better. I REALLY don't want to take a prescription medication but I cannot function like this anymore being so tired and I cannot afford to give it much more time to work because of my job and needing to be awake all day.
So, I was wondering if anyone takes a combination of
Iodine and medication. I definitely plan on keeping up with the 5 mg of iodine because that works fine for me and I am guessing it would enable me to take less medication that I would need if I didn't take any iodine. I feel so frustrated right now because most of the things I read basically talk about iodine being a miracle cure and people not having to take medication. I was hoping that would be me. But then in Dr. Brownstein's book about iodine it says that only 1/3 of people stop taking their thyroid meds when starting iodine so i'm assuming the other 2/3 either lower their dose a bit or keep it the same?
Anyone who can share their experiences would be so helpful!!
