Re: Cannot cure pinworms... losing hope
Thank you for telling me your experiences! It helps somewhat to know I'm not completely alone in this, though it would be amazing if there was an easier definitive method of eliminating these creatures. I'm so sorry it was so bad for you! It's scary... i had and have A LOT of them, however, they were/ are self-contained to the "down-there" area... I think I would go crazy if they migrated elsewhere.
I'll admit to dropping off in the cleaning regimen a bit. It was hell to keep up with and honestly didn't seem to make one bit of difference. Don't get me wrong- I'm OCD now about washing my hands every time I even THINK I've touched anything that might be contaminated, I take daily morning showers with separate washcloths, I use baby wipes instead of toilet tissue, I clean the bathroom everyday and wipe down the toilet seat everytime, my one-time-use-only clothes are put into garbage bags and are washed separately in hot water and dried with the hottest temp I've got on my dryer, and I keep the animals out of the bathroom and my room. But I don't pull the sheets off the bed everyday to be washed anymore, for example.
Although I can't seem to get rid of these bugs, the albendazole/ ivermectin combination IS helping... I barely ever feel the itch, and no longer detect any crawling sensations either inside my colon or on my skin, which is a relief... I wonder if they're still alive but very weak, you know? However, they need to be GONE. So as soon as I get the herbs, I will start alternating herbals and meds. Can't hurt... I just can't believe that these things are so persistent that the drugs can't take care of them.
With the enemas and colon cleansing, I worry about driving them further up into my digestive system (ie the small intestine) where they are safe from the medicines and flushes, which is why I have yet to do enemas (plus they seem terribly uncomfortable)...
