Re: Cannot cure pinworms... losing hope
As an update for those who may read this later:
I was "cured" for almost 6 weeks, except for occasional itching I attributed to dry skin from the constant checking. Although I had not become lax I had stopped eating the pineapple (through forgetfulness), but had kept up with everything else. However, one day this past week I found about 1/2 dozen of them, which was highly disappointing. I have been two weeks off the medications as well... the week break plus this past one. As it happens there seems to be a manufacturers backorder on albenza til the end of the month, so I am without it for about 2 more weeks =/. I am going to continue with the ivermectin 2 wk on, 1 wk off protocol in the meantime until I can procure some albenza, figuring that at least will paralyze whatever's left, which I'm hoping isn't much. And I'm eating pineapple again. Lol.
Since I stopped crushing the albenza and taking it, as well as the ivermectin, with cimetidine (tagamet) I saw a MAJOR improvement. The herbal supplements helped as well. WarriorOne (and others) was right-on about the supplements and foods. I've continued to take those everyday, and since being off the medications I've upped the dose to 2 capsules and 2 ml daily (was on 1 cap/ 1 ml) of the herbals hoping it will help offset the lack of meds.
So, trying to remain positive.
