Re: starting my first 30 day fast

Ok so my first challenge is giving up the weed. I actually would like to use this time to give it up permanently but I find myself struggeling with it. If anybody has any suggestions on things that might help I would love to hear it. Also do you guys find it is helpful for you to do some light exercise? I know you gotta rest as much as you to allow your body to heal but my back tends to get really sore. Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks

Hi Sunrise,

Overall it sounds like a very good plan as long as you are flexible with the 30 days if your body is signalling for you to stop earlier (or to continue longer for that matter).  I expect you would become less and less attracted to weed as the fast continues and ideally you would nevertheless push yourself to stop that as early into the fast as possible, preferably immediately if you are able to pull it off :).

As to suggestions, you might find it helpful to drink only to thirst which for me would include going dry until you are actually experiencing a fairly strong sense of thirst as i believe your cravings will disappear most quickly in this way.  Actually and additionally i believe your most productive fast will include segments of dry fasting for as long as reasonably comfortable in between shorter periods of drinking throughout the duration of your fast.  As an example it might turn out to be something like 15 or 20 hours dry alternating with 5-9 hours of drinking only to thirst.  Personally as well, i find this to be a lot more comfortable than attempting to force (even sip) water down when my body is not thirsty for it... and by contrast what an immense delight it is to drink when actually thirsty.

I believe light exercise is a good idea, especially just enough as minimally necessary to keep the lymphs moving as with say 2 minutes of gentle trampolining several times throughout the day... and light walking (or other light exercise) can be quite pleasant, indeed ethereal while fasting.  Stretching would also be worthwhile and beneficial, especially since your back gets sore.  Aside from this i would encourage you to do as much resting as possible, preferably in a laying position.  Allowing your body to slow down and become as calm as possible will lead to maximal cleansing and healing.
