My thinking was obviously the decayed root is replaced by something manmade, but then the tooth has to be filled with composite or amalagam then caped with crown. I have not really gotten any confirmation. I thought they would just fill with amalagam again now that the root is replaced. why would they use another material, it's basically the same thing.
