Re: Uny-Part 1 Questions for Fast/Cleanses Tomorrow
Hi Jackie,
I know Uny is extremely behind in answering posts, so I thought that since Uny answered most of the questions you are asking now in her post above I thought I'd point them out to you ;)
If I am correct you are saying I could do the fast/cleanses without the IF#2 but with all my issues and the need for fiber you think it was better if I went ahead and used the IF#2. I think I will try it with the IF#2 and tough it out as you suggested. I want to do whatever is going to help the most.
Yes, that is what she said.
Having done a few rounds of IF#2, there shouldn't be a huge "structural need to cleanse reason" that would prevent you from doing the 5-day liver cleanse and/or big flush (especially when you note below that you're having 2-3 bms daily). The rule of thumb has always been "do two weeks on the colon before starting liver/gb work unless there's a crisis/emergency - you've already done more than that.
When juice-fasting, it's always good to keep fiber in the colon to keep things moving 'normally' - the IF#2 with it's added bentonite/charcoal/pectin is also great for helping to soak up and adsorb toxins being released (and the drug/toxin residue that gets stirred up & released).
Do I need to be back on IF#2 a few days before I start the juice fast/liver cleanse or is it alright to start it all up at the same time?
No-----The rule of thumb has always been "do two weeks on the colon before starting liver/gb work unless there's a crisis/emergency - you've already done more than that.
Can you tell me how much IF#2 I would use? Would I start with ¼ tsp 5x/day as before? How would I know when to increase it? I want to make sure I am getting enough IF#2 during the fast and cleanses.
Willow here; The directions for the IF#2 have always stated to start out with 1 heaping teaspoon, five times a day. Once you get used to it you can, and Uny recommends to work on up to 1 heaping tablespoon, five times a day. The reason Uny had you start small several months ago was because of all the bowel issues you have but you've already used it so there is likely no need to start small again.
No one can tell you when to increase it Jackie, that is something you're going to have to decide for yourself. What I can tell you is that when you start cleansing, if your body has a reaction that seems like it might be bad, that's your body telling you that you really need to do the cleanse. You have two choices, one is to ramp it up and push through it or keep on at the same pace. What you choose to do is totally up to you. I can tell you that I would be aggressive, ramp it up and push through to the other side but I can't tell you what to do with your body. Dr. Schulze recommended the same basic colon cleanse for everyone, virtually thousands of people. This cleanse has been proven many times over, it's safe and effective!
Would the amount of charcoal be “a teaspoon of charcoal several times”. Would I add this in with the IF#2?
At the very minimum, I suggest a teaspoon of charcoal several times a day when juice-fasting (it's soaks up gas, too)...but with diverticulitis, I think you need to mix it with some kind of fiber.
Can you give me any other suggestions on what I might do to relieve the bloating/gas? What herbs and food as you mention above?
I seem to remember that Uny has answered this question for you before so I did a search and found this. You can do a search within the forum on bloating and gas and come up with lots of answers.
You said “herbs/combos (including the Liver/Detox/Digestion tea) I've suggested that you've tried; if you haven't tried strong teas of them all, I'd be sure to do so.” To be honest I am not sure I have tried any for bloating just nausea. Sorry but I think I missed it before with the bloating. I usually try to keep up with all your suggestions. I found that you had mentioned" ...ginger, peppermint, spearmint, fennel seed and wild yam are all options (in whatever combination/strength you prefer)." On hand I have Peppermint, ginger and of course the liver tea. I do not have chamomile, spearmint or the others but I might be able to find some in bags at Whole Foods, perhaps Traditional Medicines or something like that. Not as good as fresh herb but maybe better than nothing? You mentioned “strong” could you suggest how I would make them and perhaps how much to drink to help with the bloating and gas?
Willow here; you can get Fennel Seed in the grocery store and you can chew it. I don't know how to explain "strong" tea to you lol. If you've ever made tea and just say you wanted it to taste stronger what would you do? You'd add more tea with the same amount of water you used the first time. Ya know STRONG lol.
I believe you are correct about the seroma , I think that is what the doctor said as well. I have the Blood Detox Tincture from a Kidney Cleanse, would you suggest I do that daily even when not kidney cleansing?
Willow here; the Blood Detox Tincture comes with the Liver Cleanse not the Kidney Cleanse. But she told you it would be good to use the Blood Detox tincture here:
Fluid build-up after surgery could possibly/likely be seroma (see definitions below). If this is the case, you want to be supporting your lymphatic system via rebounding, dry skin brushing and lymphatic herbs (the best herbal combination being the Blood Detox Tincture).
Is it alright to start with the Liver Cleanse and then do the Kidney Cleanse after with the Bad Calcium Flush?
Reading what Uny said in her post to you I'd say yes, it is alright to start with the liver flush and then do the Kidney Cleanse and then the Bad Calcium Flush.
I also have not been mixing my carrots and beets with ¼ cup of water so I will do that as well. If I want to keep sugar/carb content low are any other fruits okay? I am guessing bananas would be out? What about watermelon, cantaloupe or other fruits? It is a little tough for me to just drink green juices especially on a juice fast. I could really use some suggestions if you have any. I don’t want to get sick of the juice and stop so something a little tasty really makes the difference!
Tart green apples are the best fruit, along with lots of leafy greens, celery, cucumbers - the beets & carrots are great for blood-building and nourishment (dilute them with around 1/4 water) and mix in plenty of greens & apples.
I think what Uny meant by that was that whatever size juice you're drinking you add 1/4 part water of that amount to the juice, she didn't mean add 1/4 cup. You can do a search to see which fruits have the least natural sugar.
I hope this helps Jackie. Don't be afraid to just do it, you really don't have to be persnickty perfect!!!!
Blessings,
Willow
