Re: will there ever be a cure ?
Candex actually should be able to work fairly well, although never only on its own. It has no fungicidal properties, but it does have plenty of enzymes to break up fungal cell walls which are composed of a matrix of glycoproteins, mostly chitin and other polysacharides (complex sugars). The test to see if it works would be to take many pills at the same time and see if you feel some sweet aftertaste an hour of two later (on empty stomach). I tried it, and after a few days felt that after taste as well as an effect of it working.
But on it's own, it is impotent. I can see it only as a part of a well thought out anti-fungal plan which would have to include not only dietary changes but many other supplements and a medication or two.
It all boils down to recognizing exact causes of problems rather then guessing. Medical tests can help, but can also be misleading. False negatives are all too common, and doctors' interpretations leave plenty to be desired.
In the end, we have to learn to be our own doctors.
