Re: Why are Spiritual Fasts more effective?

heheheheh!!! We all get irritable at times, but fasting should make you quiet and at peace.

The article talks about fasting for a purpose other than just giving up food and water such as a Diety, ie: God, Buddah or Allah.

So if I am fasting to please God I will strive harder to earn the extra merit.

If I am fasting in hopes of getting rid of pain, I might just say hey, I am in a bad mood.

I fasted today and had a very good day. I rested most of the day and before breaking my fast I asked Allah for many, many things and surprisingly I started getting email after email telling me that my supplication had been answered.

I was so excited that I can't wait to fast again. If I was fasting for pain and had a horrible day and still had the pain, I might say, "forget this crap."

See the difference. Dry fasting takes around three days to get rid of the hunger pains and to relax more. After that the joy of fasting will come.
