Re: Slightly OT: hair test results!
Send me a message in about 2 weeks and I will be able to help you out with your hair test more, I am actually just checking in during vacation.
Dry skin usually means thyroid. I am not sure about the thyroid markers on the hairtest off hand.
Also, COPD, asthma.. can be from a deficiency in cortisol, so that is def adrenal related. I like glandulars but you are going to find mixed opinions on it.
Re: Chelators depends who you talk to. according to cutler,
Iodine is not a chelator because it lacks 2 thiol groups to clasp onto the metal. However, I did herx hard my first big dose of iodine. I dont know what I stirred up, but i am sure it was partially a bunch of halogens and my liver couldnt keep up. I find if I can keep up on liver support it makes a world of difference. I take liverlife and liv-52.. but even milk thistle might help.
You are probably zinc wasting. Do you taste zinc when you supplement it? Does it taste at all?
Hairtests are not so meaningful once you meet counting rules and you start chelating, they are interesting to have and they can give you ideas on what to supplement with but we only do them once a year here for curiosity reasons only.
Oh and technically, although this belongs in the culter board, the only chelators according to Andy is DMSA, ALA, DMPS and EDTA. The last one not recommended.
I would say from my perspective the most important thing is to get yourself to a huggins or iaomt dentist and get that metal out. Join a few groups (namely frequent dose chelation - if you are interested in Andy Cutler, somewhat autism mercury as well) and read, learn and take it slow.
It is very attractive at the beginning to feel empowered with your new knowledge and want to get everything out. This is not a race, it is a marathon. And a little bit of knowledge can be a dangeous thing - I know!
