+edit...Dosage correction and other thoughts...Re: Anti-anxiety and neuroprotective effects of ashwaghanda
>>>According to Uny you want to take three teaspoons per day of the herb to to get the benefit<<<
Actually I suggest 1-3 Tablespoons daily, which is what most Ayurvedic practitioners recommend :)
'Sure hope the tincture you found is made with certified organic Ashwagandha root. Ashwagandha is typically imported from India, and India still allows the use of DDT (a carcinogen and known neurotoxin)...and of course 'whatever other' chemicals are used in the growing process. There have been reports over the years of people having neurological issues worsen (or develop) from using toxic, imported herbs.
Because alcohol is such a strong solvent, it's very important to make sure your tinctures are made from certified organic herbs...especially when the source of the herbs is typically a third-world country.
Fwiw, logic & methinks anyone that can digest meat & raw eggs (two of THE most difficult & 'stressing to the digestive tract' things in the world), would have no problem digesting less than a spoonful of powdered plant root. I realize you're very 'reactive', and you need to 'do whatever' in whatever way is best for you...but I wanted to point that out for your consideration.
Edit - whoops, I already had that link/info, I just didn't remember it presented like that :)
Blessings aplenty -
