Migrating Mites and Tips for Success
I know, right?? Ick!!
Well, at least we've identified the cause of our acne...so many others have not.
Here's what I do with the Unkers:
Before I go to bed at night, I slather my face in cold cream, sometimes with a drop or two of Tea Tree oil. Then, I take the Unker's, and go all the way around my neck, onto my back, onto my arms, and my decollete area. This way I figure that when the mites are being killed on my face by the cold cream, they won't try to migrate down because the menthol and eucalyptus in the Unkers will deter them. I then go straight to bed in a completely dark room.
Are you using sulfur ointment? I can't remember. If you aren't, go onto Amazon and buy the 10% sulfur ointment. It really helps to dry out the zits you do get, and also eliminates discoloration. It also has yet to dry my skin out, which sort of shocked me because everyone else says how drying it is. Maybe because I'm using cold cream? Not sure.
Also, try taking liquid Olive Leaf. I use the glycerite from NOW brand. I noticed a huge improvement when I started taking it.
In addition, I believe that a good magnesium supplement helps flush them out without overtaxing your system. I recommend Natural Calm. If you can't take that, do
Epsom Salt baths. They help a ton! :-)
As for drugs? No. I believe that any
Antibiotic or other anti-fungal may stop the
Acne temporarily, but it won't kill the mites for good. You would have to continue on with them indefinitely, which is just downright bad (as you know). Not only that, but it will wreak havoc on your immune system and create other imbalances/illness.
Honey, I totally understand how you feel about summer coming. I'm very conscious about the way I present myself and how I look and I'm one of the most impatient people you'll ever meet, but I do know that if we continue with this regimen while supporting our immune systems, we will beat these mites!! I know it. And in the end, not only will we look better, but we'll be healthier, too.
Oh, and few other tips...
1) Wash your makeup brushes every day with Selsun Blue in warm water. When you can't or don't have time to do so, stick them in a ziploc in the freezer overnight.
2) Put any powdered makeup (mineral, eyeshadow, etc) in the freezer each night, and then back into the freezer after applying your makeup in the morning. I also do this with my mascara.
3) If you can, change your pillow case every day. Wash them with Borax added to the load, on hot.
4) I know some people are against this, but I've been tanning in a tanning bed. I believe that it's helping. I don't know where you live or if it's warm there, but try to get as much natural sunlight as possible...at least 20 minutes per day. The vitamin D will help you stay positive and healthy, and just exposing your face to the sun will discourage the mites from thriving. I don't know about you, but my skin would always look a ton better in the summer time. I believe this is because of the sun.
Stick with it, my mite-fighting sister!! We will overcome these nasties!!! XOXO
