I cannot attest to hemorrhoids, but I am using cayenne pepper (along with licorice tea) quite successfully to heal my gastritis, gerd and possible ulcer caused (unknowingly) by intermittent aleeve (naproxen) use for back pain at night. Initially (it's been weeks ago), the stomach pain was so bad that I took some cayenne powder from my spice cabinet and put it in water and knocked it back. It burned my mouth and throat for a bit and tho I was warned ahead of time that I would be in discomfort for a few minutes. I wasn't prepared for the heat and temporary intensity of pain. But in 10-15 minutes, the pain in my stomach was much better. Later that morning after I dropped the kid off to school, I went to the health food store and picked up some "cool" cayenne capsules (has ginger) and they went down a lot easier and didn't burn. I began drinking licorice tea to soothe my esophagus.
I would say that my stomach is about 90% better. I'm weaning myself off pepcid and prilosec and I haven't had reflux wake me up at night for weeks.
I've thrown the aleeve in the trash!! I'm now taking daily doses of diatomaceous earth (for the silica), gelatin (for the collagen), and glutathione (reduced Jarrow's formula) for the inflammation to help with my sciatica.
