Re: Identity and choosing to be healthy

A friend of mine turned me onto Eckhart Tolle a few years back while I was dating this mean guy and kept feeling like I needed to give him a chance and was making myself sick over it. That was my intro to the world of books on spirituality. The next guy that I dated I totally fell in love with and eventually he broke up with me out of blue and never spoke to me again. I was so tortured and confused by it that I stopped making art for about 6 months and started drinking and smoking a lot. A friend of mine who is an art therapist invited me to join her class inspired by the book by Julia Cameron "The Artists Way". It completely changed my life. I rewrote old negative thought patterns into new positive thought patterns thus leading me into getting my work into a bunch of galleries and my teaching opportunities expanded. I also really got into meditation and started studying other teachers. That's the basic gist, but we made vision boards in the Artists Way class. I also started teaching classes that were about transforming your dreams into reality through art. I was in the process of watching many of my students' lives transform positivily when I got sick. But I'll be back! With new stories of triumph!!!!!
