First....Always get a copy of your labs.. It is your lab, not theirs. Don't be afraid to ask for them.
PS and holy basil are great for lowering cortisol. Zinc is also good.
You are undergoing pregnenolone steal. Under chronic stress, most raw material goes to cortisol, instead of making other hormones in the steriod cascade.
You need to calm your nervous system down to get out of stressed mode. Meditation is great way to do this. Here is a great book on how the relaxation response works, and how to do it
