Regarding low HCL

Liver/Gallbladder cleansing may help with your bile flow, but HCl is produced in the stomach and so wouldn't likely be affected, at least not directly. Aside from supplementing w/ HCl or TMG, there are certain things, such as zinc and B vitamins, that will help w/ your own production. There's a couple others which I can't recall. You may want to go over to HV's forum and do search on "increase HCL."

But the main reason I wanted to chime in was to mention Lugol's 5% solution (iodine). I've been taking a couple of drops in water first thing in the morning and it is bringing back my sense of hunger. I've always been able to eat, but that cycle (the one that all kids have) of 1) eat 2) digest 3) go work/play 4) get HUNGRY again - that hasn't been around for years. Other people have reported this effect as well. I don't know all the details, but I did read that Iodine penetrates the lining of the stomach (and this is a good thing). It may be as simple as Iodine displacing the fluoride and bromide. Anyway.... I can only do the Iodine 2 or 3 times a week due to detox symptoms.

I suffered from low HCL/acid reflux for over 10 years, then finally ended it this summer. But my sense of hunger was still missing. The fact that this is returning suggests maybe my own HCl production is coming back. ( :^) )
