Re: [EDIT] Re: Iodine and Cortisol

Yeah. The B Vitamins worked for me temporarily, but only very briefly. Then they had zero effect at all.

The Liver is always involved when it comes to hypoglycemia. I used to get intermittent sharp pain over the liver in my drinking days. When my sugars drop it hurts sometimes too, but not very often.

Yeah. The only carb I can eat is raw sauerkraut (and I mean raw, unpasteurized) because the beneficial bacteria in it seem to digest it properly without causing distress.

One thing is to get your vitamin D levels checked. If you aren't in the sun, or if you live far north you likely are deficient in vitamin D. The best way to optimize your vitamin D levels is sunshine, not supplements. Supplements actually made me worse, and very depressed. Sunshine calms me down and makes me happy.

If you are zero carb (like I am) and still have reactive hypoglycemia then insulin is not likely the problem unless you have a pancreatic tumor producing extra insulin or a rare genetic disorder causing hyper insulin production (you would have seen this in childhood), then the adrenals and/or liver are likely the problem.

I'm about to take a saliva cortisol/dhea test and will definitely post the results.

It sounds like we have the exact same condition.

One thing I do NOT recommend is vitamin C, ironically. Many people will recommend this for adrenal fatigue, and once you get your hypoglycemia under control you can add it.

Unless you're consuming allot of carbs, vitamin C can make it worse, particularly if you take it close to meals because it requires insulin exactly like carbs do and will drop your sugars dramatically in my experience. It was scary.
