Re: Iodine and Cortisol
Well. Here's how it went.
2005 - Fish oil fixes the problem temporarily
2005 - antioxidants help to a degree
2007 - low carb diet helps temporarily
2008 - zero carb diet helps temporarily
2008 -
Iodine helps temporarily
2009 - Vitamin C fixes it temporarily
2010 - 2nd go around with zero carb works temporarily
My belief is that the adrenals have just enough in the tank at these points in time to work properly when stimulated by the pituitary and thyroid.
Iodine gets the thyroid working properly, but the adrenals are messed up and so crash.
This explains why zero carb, low protein, super high fat still causes reactive hypoglycemia between meals.
It absolutely can not be about too much insulin at this point because I'm literally eating nothing that stimulates insulin spikes. I can only tolerate about 30 grams of protein daily, coupled with zero carbs and only fat to supplement the calories.
That is not just insulin resistance. Period.
