Ascorbic acid and baking soda?

So I've been more tightly monitoring when my bladder is burning and it is usually after I take my first dose of Quantum in the morning. I've tried to stop taking it several times and replacing it with other C's but whenever I do I feel really bad- head ache, light sensitivity, eye pain, increased stomach sensitivity, weakness. I feel like the other components of the Quantum are what makes it work so well.

So, I've been trying to figure out what to do. I read here that adding baking soda to ascorbic acid crystals neutralizes the acid:

Do any of you have experience with this? I tested it out and mixed a little Quantum with baking soda tonight and it behaved like how he explains it in the article. I will probably try taking some tomorrow and see how it goes. I will be soooo happy if I'm onto something!--- possibly a way for others to take it without it irritating the stomach.
