but yes i have tried glycine before in large doses and it failed to do anything for me before. maybe i was taking too large doses or maybe i wasn't absorbing it properly.
I don't know if you were taking it on an empty stomach or not, but it is very important to do so. Larger amino acids will block its absorption. So individual amino acids need to be taken at least 30 minutes before meals.
tried it again and it yes it does seem to take the edge off of things. interesting note that it is supposedly found in space. i always thought it tasted like what i remember snow to taste. maybe i am not that far off
