Re: Anyone heard of fasting curing post-traumatic stress (PTSD)?

Thanks for the great post! Honestly, during my recent 8-day fast, I began to suspect that fasting alone won't help if I don't do some serious emotional work at the same time. I would wake up each day hoping my mind would be somewhat better, but it wouldn't be, and then I would just drudge on the rest of the day being angry as usual, which didn't seem conducive to healing. Hence, I'm hoping that meditating while fasting and performing tai chi-like exercises will help. Actually, if the fasting doesn't help at all, I'm kind of banking on the meditation.

Sadly, I've tried EFT, and in my first serious EFT session, I temporarily (for a few hours) got excellent results, but then the anger came back as soon as I was exposed to it. Since then, I've tried the same procedure many times without getting results. I also tried 5 sessions of acupuncture, because it's another form of energy healing that's related to EFT, but that didn't help.

I've heard of EMDR and I look forward to trying it. NLP sounds like it requires a practitioner to whom I'd have to travel and pay lots of money. Ho'oponopono looks interesting, never heard of that.

And yeah, I've tried forcing myself to forgive while repeating positive affirmations... not only does it not work, but after it fails, I feel even more angry and disturbed. This practice of forgiveness seems to be a little easier during meditation though.
