Anyone heard of fasting curing post-traumatic stress (PTSD)?

It's very difficult to motivate myself to go many weeks without food unless I know for sure that it will heal me. I've gone 8 days before (I know that's not long enough) and didn't notice any benefits. I've heard that fasting has cured various mental/emotional illnesses like bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, anxiety, depression... but how about a lifetime of psychological trauma? Is this really a miraculous reset button for emotional scars/disturbances, or should I be looking for something else (Iboga/Ibogaine looks like a possible option). Any insight or experiences?
