Re: a monkey wrench?

Hello surley

This group is getting very off-topic now, however…….

You cholesterol levels are only one risk indicator to the possibility of dying from a stroke related condition. One of the better indicators is to look at how your parents life ended in relation to what they ate and what exercise they took.

You and your doctor should assess you in the same light. If you have a poor diet, smoke and/or don't exercise these can be higher risk that your cholesterol levels

FAMILIAL HYPERCHOLESTEROLAEMIA is often over diagnosed and around 40% of people with the condition live out a normal life and die of something unrelated. This would indicate that there are other factors such as diet, smoking, drinking, stress and lack of exercise that are the real causes of an early demise.

This is how doctor trap us, by the fear that we are all going to an early grave without them. Don't believe it and start to work things out for yourself. The figures quoted by blood laboratories are all based on averages but unfortunately we can't all be average. The actual figures of your blood analysis are in proportion it is just high than average and if you have flushed for a year then you know your liver is fine so you make up your mind if you want the drugs or NOT.

If you decide to go ahead and take the pills get the dose a low a possible even if you have to start cutting them into pieces yourself.

If you feel that you need to take something! Have you tried pectin as a supplement to reduce cholesterol?

You can take 15 g of pectin, into 3 portions and eat with each meal. Do this for 4 weeks and get you blood levels measured again.

The decisions are yours to make but don't keep taking a medication that is making you feel bad! That is not health care, its pill pushing.
