My two cents.
You were wise to stop taking the statin drugs. After muscle pain and weakness comes muscle atrophy. (yes, you should take CoQ10 to replenish what was lost by the drugs)
Reducing TC is a myth. You can have a TC of 300 and not have any heart problems.
What you need to know is, the HDL needs to be high in order to protect yourself.
In the last year two different Doctors have tried to put my wife on Statin’s due to TC of 300 and 289.
She would say, but my husband says my HDL level…
They would then look at the HDL level of 117, 118 and say “Oh, you don’t have to worry about heart problems”.
The word clueless comes to mind.
If you’re fearful about TC….
Reducing TC is as follows.
1. Lose the weight if you’re overweight.
2. Exercise (I’ve seen people lower TC by 100 points with a little exercise)
These didn’t work?
3.Liver flush.
This didn’t work?
Guess what, the body artificially raises what it needs.
What do I mean?
Lets say you did a hair test and your zinc levels were elevated.
Oh my God, you’re eating too many greens!
Well, NO!
The body artificially raises the zinc level by stealing the zinc that it needs from your bones and muscles.
Why it takes it beyond the normal limits I haven’t a clue.
So taking zinc will reduce your zinc test level…..weird.
(It’s the same way with water retention by the way)
So you have an abnormally high LDL level. Gee, why do you think that is?
Guess what? The body needs extra good oil (low fat diet..hahahaha clueless). It’s producing extra bad oil (LDL) (at a much higher level) because it needs oil to run.
Dr Mercola has hereditary low TC. He has patients that have TC’s of 500. He and they do the exactly the same thing.
4. They take extra good oil (fish or cod or flax or any of several good oils). It raises his TC and lowers theirs.
Use
Extra-Virgin Olive-Oil or virgin coconut oil for cooking. Never use anything else.
Hope this helps.
