Re: Costochondritis help
hi,
for the past 7 years of my life i have been having the symptoms of costro.. im now 18. and it keeps getting worse.. about 8 of my massive attacks i had to go to hospital. the first time.. they told me i had a heart attack.. second.. the had NO idea.. third time.. a doctor came in and said she thinks it was costro.. so we did some research on it because every doc i saw had no idea about it. passing it off as a muscle problem.
im currently having an attack as we speak.. and theres nothing i can do about it. it may seem stupid to come on here and write. but hey. nothings stupid right.
so, basically.. ive recently gone to see a different doctor and he told me that with costro. its a stem of muscular dystrophy (my great aunt had it.. and it only attacks every 3rd generation), and that its rare, and with most people.. they just grow out of it. he said by the time im 21 it should be gone. but everyday i get closer to becoming 21.. it gets worse.. so atm im constantly taking some pill the doc told me to take for the pain. i dont want to be on pills forever you know.. esp when they stop me from driving. (side effects). this has effected my life badly.. it hurts every morning waking up.. i have no energy. some days i cant get out of bed cause the pain is that bad. it sucks. so i guess you know.. (if i was you and it wasnt from an injury, id check your family history.. because with my case.. mine is passed down.. im the 3rd generation... so i got the stem of MD)
you can get costro from:
-injury or trauma
-family passed down from muscular dystrophy.
and the different types pain:
- constant
- goes and comes back
- light and medium..
