Re: Ditto...

The pet waste, with the bokashi system, is broken down, and basically digested by the microbes, after 3 weeks, (thats about how long it takes to break down fully), I bury the waste, and plant directly on top of the buried waste. The plants absolutely love it, my tomatoes are huge, they particularly like the doggy doo. The system works the same as a septic system for humans.

Meds in the water supply, is a very big problem, birth control pills, antidepressants, and many others, polluting the water, and the soil. This is something that really needs to be addressed, but I haven't seen any progress on how to deal with this.

It would be better to start at the source, and stop prescribing so many meds to begin with. Ah well, I can dream.

Copper and even lead pipes, are a problem in old houses, in Australia too, also asbestos. There are schemes in place, where these pipes, and asbestos are replaced, and disposed of safely, and in some states the schemes are very inexpensive, or free. The copper and lead are recycled into other areas, where they are a valuable commodity.

My friends hair turned green, simply from the copper pipes in her house, scary.
