Urinary Problem - January 2010 to Present

Hi all,

I am 24, male and not sexually active. In late January 2010, I noticed after urinating, I had the feeling that I had more to let out as my bladder never felt completely empty and I had to urinate much more often than usual. I could go pee, leave the bathroom and return 30 seconds later but only a few drops of urine would come out. I experienced no pain, no burning and there was no blood present. Two possible causes of this are:

1) Wearing a wet swimsuit pretty much all day for two days.
2) Came into close contact with mold in my house

Two weeks later, I decided to visit a doctor, along with a sample of my morning urine. The doctor inserted a white strip and reported nothing appears to be wrong apart from an increase in white blood cells. My urine was sent off to the lab for further tests but nothing odd was found. I was asked to take 2x200mg of Trimethoprim for three days, as well as consume Cranberry juice. However, my symptoms did not improve.

Over the next couple of months I tried the following:

- Lifetime Uri-Active Supplement containing (per 2 capsules)
Cranberry Fruit Concentrate (10:1) 100mg
D-Mannose 300mg
Dandelion root 50mg
Astragalus root 50mg
Buchu leaf (4:1 PE) 50mg
Uva Ursi leaf (4:1 PE) 50mg

- Swanson Oregano Oil (75-85% Carvacrol) Capsules 50mg a day
- Tri-Quench SSKI (6 drops every 3 hours for 3 days)
- Baking soda in water 3 times a day for 2 days

In May I started to experience minor rectal itching which went away but is now back again (along with a lump) which I guess is a haemorrhoid? This can become itchy occasionally and when I wipe my ass, my anus is often sensitive. I also had an ultrasound of my bladder and kidneys, a digital rectal exam (finger up the ass), and two PSA blood tests; all appear fine. I have had a blood test on Zinc and Potassium levels (which were both on the low side but within the normal range) and two more urine analysis.

Since August, I have been taking 2 drops of Lugol’s Solution (with 200mcg of Selenium) a day. In November, the doctor referred me to a bladder specialist (not an urologist) and she asked me to keep a diary of liquid intake and urination. My results are below:

Notice on one of those days, I urinated MUCH more than I consumed? The bladder specialist didn’t know why this was. I have good days (15th November) and bad days (8th November). On the bad days, I will urinate large amounts every 40 minutes or so.

I had another ultrasound scan of my bladder. I consumed around 500ml of liquid an hour and a half before the scan, yet when I was scanned, only 37ml of urine was found in my bladder. I went to the toilet, urinated for a bit (much more than 37ml) and returned for a rescan and only 30ml was in my bladder. The bladder specialist didn’t understand this but recommended I drink at least 2 litres of liquid a day because I was complaining about being thirsty. I have been consuming at least 2 litres of liquid now for the past week and a half now but the thirst is still present (although to a lesser extent).

To summarise, here are my symptoms:

- Bladder never feels empty
- Urinating on average once an hour
- Sometimes urinating much more than I am drinking
- Haemorrhoid
- Often feel thirsty despite drinking frequently

I use to experience the following symptoms below but no longer do (or to a much less extent)

- Thin, weak urine steam
- Difficulty starting urinating

There are lots of things this could be, including Diabetes and Diabetes Insipidus but I do not know what to do. self-gratification has no affect on how I feel, nor does bathing in warm water. I guess it could be possible that I have bacteria in the prostate, as I think this would not be shown in a urine sample?

If anyone has suggestions or advice, please share them here! I wish to sort this annoying problem out.

Thanks
