Re: A question about the origin of the Devil
#18837, I agree with what you said, except maybe the hell part, if you meant all eternity in a burning hell. I believe the way Beej says on that.
Refreshed, you think God just has ESP. But if that was the case, the plan would be up to us, wouldn't it?
Jesus's death on the cross happened just as God planned. God used the evil to accomplish His purpose.
Jesus said "18No one takes it from me (his life), but I lay it down of my own accord. I have authority to lay it down, and I have authority to take it up again. John 10:18.
It would seem that those that killed Jesus were the ones in control, but not so at all.
And it's that way in all of this life. It doesn't matter who looks like they are in control. God is overriding it all to work into his plan that he made from the foundation of the world.
It makes no sense to think God made this grand plan after he figured out how all of mankind was going to play out their parts. That wouldn't be predestination, but post-destination.
What if a architect made his plan that way. "Okay group, just start building, and let's see how it all turns out, then I'll make my plan after it's all said and done. Yeah, that sounds good. And we may need a B and C plan too."
Anyway, just my thoughts on that, with a little persuasion from the bible. :)
