Why not try a sweet potato instead of grains? They are supposed to be a lower glycemic complex carb. Steam them though and add butter or coconut oil. If I fry them they get too sugary and give me low blood sugar. They seem good when my body is saying, "please may I have some carbs."
I think I'm about ready for a little too.
Oh yeah, I eat apples and yogurt for breakfast still and my body tolerates it fine.
