Re: Pro-Life Censorship of Everything Pro-Choice (edited)
Herein lays the base of the matter, it comes down to what one personally believes about when a foetus is a person. Depending on what the individual woman's view is, will be what she chooses to do.
Why should a woman who does not follow the beliefs of those who think a foetus is a person, be forced to give birth, when this is not how she views a pregnancy?
Imagine the outrage if women who thought that a foetus was a person, were forced to abort.
However one wants to try and add into the issue, it comes down to differences of belief, plain and simple.
As I have said before, the current laws on the issue of abortion, reflect the majority view, and in a democracy this is how it should be.
Calling people who are for choice murderers, pro-death etc (as some have done on the forum), or condemming women because they do not choose the path that the no-choice people want them too, will not persuade anyone, it merely inflames the already negative image that exists.
IMO a better way would be to do something practical about supporting pregnant women, (not with sentimental blather, or religious lip service), and valuing women and motherhood, so that women will see motherhood as a valued role in society, instead of a step into poverty, a lack of control over their lives and bodies, and dependence.
