A few more thoughts on Vitamin C and SIBO

I neglected to mention in my previous post that I use Powdered Vitamin C. Any quality powdered C is fine.

*Remember to rinse your mouth with water after taking powdered C, the acidity's not good for your teeth and will irritate your tongue.

Also, be prepared for some extended frequent urination. SIBO can cause substantial edema/fluid retention. Over several days my abdomen flattened out quite a bit.

The C draws water out whilst simultaneously reducing the protein malabsorption related edema, so don't plan on going to a movie during this.

Taking a lot of C is also irritating to the throat. I find that a bit of Kefir between doses is soothing and beneficial.

If you would like to be more aggressive, consider adding Bromelain with the C on an empty stomach.

You will notice that you get used to the C fairly quickly so experiment with upping the dose as you see fit.

Finally, I'm not sure how long this will take. I plan to keep at it until I stop seeing benefits, and then back off to a maintenance dose.
