Re: Romans 8:1-4

Because we couldn't keep it, so we were condemned by it. The law is holy, just, and good, but we are not. That's the problem. So when the law was given, it was a tutor, to show us how hopeless we were to live up to the law's requirements and be right with God. It was given to drive us to Christ. Once in christ, we no longer need a tutor.

Galatians 3:23 But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed.
Galatians 3:24
Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster [to bring us] unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.

"... a man is not justified by the works of the law but by faith in Jesus Christ... For I through the law died to the law that I might live to God. I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. I do not set aside the grace of God; for if righteousness comes through the law, then Christ died in vain." Galatians 2:16-21

"...for the law made nothing perfect; on the other hand, there is the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near to God." Hebrews 7:19

Romans 5:20
20The law was added so that the trespass might increase. But where sin increased, grace increased all the more, 21so that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

It says in that scripture that the law was added so that sin might increase. What do you think that means? God wouldn't give us the law so it would increase sin, would he? But that is exactly what it says, doesn't it?

Galatians 7:5-6
5For when we were controlled by the sinful nature, the sinful passions aroused by the law were at work in our bodies, so that we bore fruit for death. 6But now, by dying to what once bound us, we have been released from the law so that we serve in the new way of the Spirit, and not in the old way of the written code.

He say the sinful passion were AROUSED BY THE LAW.

Galatians 7:8
But sin, seizing the opportunity afforded by the commandment, produced in me every kind of covetous desire.
