Re: hypothyroid, pregnant, adrenal exhaustion, low vitamin D levels
I had lots of symptoms, but they were all things I had been dealing with for a long time with the adrenal fatigue, hypothyroidism, etc, so I don't remember anything unusual about my symptoms during pregnancy. I just remember being scared and maybe extra irritable. :) I don't remember the heart palpitations, but that's never been something I've dealt with much even though I do have major adrenal fatigue. I did have some nervousness I remember. But the main thing that sticks out in my mind about my symptoms during pregnancy was that I was extremely tired, quite a bit more than usual, especially the first trimester. Also, the digestive problems I had always had were worse during pregnancy too.
One thing that got better was that I wasn't as cold as usual. The weight gain and just being pregnant helped that symptom of hypothyroidism.
After the first trimester, I did feel better I remember.
Labor and delivery was pretty crazy for me because I had my baby really fast and no one was expecting that. Plus she came two weeks early. Because of my very low blood pressure, I was hooked up to a machine all night so that could be monitored. I was hooked up to quite a few machines which was really annoying. If you can bypass all the machines, I would. But don't worry about any of that now. Just take one day at a time.
I don't know what's safe to take during pregnancy for the nervousness and heart palpitations. Maybe someone knows and will write in and let you know. That is definitely one thing that is so very hard about pregnancy, not knowing what you can safely take and not take.
I'm always around if you want to talk more, so don't hesitate to write here, or contact me privately, or whatever.
I'm praying for you! I hope you will be able to sleep better tonight. I know how hard it is to not be able to sleep even not pregnant (I'm dealing a lot with that now) but being pregnant and not sleeping, would be even harder. I was working during pregnancy, and could only sleep at certain times, and I do remember not sleeping good at times. Hopefully you are not having to work, and can sleep whenever you can.
The second trimester will probably be much better, it usually is for everyone. Another thing that I did during pregnancy was read lots of books about being pregnant. I think this helped me stay calmer because even though I knew so many of my symptoms were from the adrenal fatigue, hypothyroidism, etc, when you read about being pregnant, you read about how so many women that have no known health problems, suffer all these similar symptoms, just from being pregnant. Now I know that a perfectly healthy body probably shouldn't have any symptoms, but just reading about all these common symptoms of pregnancy helped me a lot. Tiredness, digestive problems, sleeping problems, irritability, all kinds of aches and pains, nervousness, the list goes on and on, all this is supposedly normal. :) So I just imagined I was normal, and tried to relax.
And maybe listen to some classical music. That's suppose to help the baby's intelligence anyway (who really knows though), but it's also relaxing.
