Yes I do remember the Methylene Blue study. As I recall it had something to do with "stabilizing" the Mitochondria. I too wondered if it had an antimicrobial effect.

I don't know if Alzheimer's is caused by an infectious agent but, it seems reasonable. There also seems to be a definite dysregulation of metals in the brain. This dysregulation could protect some pathogens from the bodies immune system.

Regarding the question: "Also, do you know if chlorine dioxide can cross the blood brain barrier?" I does seem reasonable that it does. I did a quick search and found no substantial websites or studies that confirmed that. It does go inter cellular and should go anywhere oxygen can go.

There are herbals that appear to be effective in treating Alzheimer's.

It's good to have options.
