A couple of thoughts here:

Carrots only require a quick squirt down to clean if harvested after a good soaking while still in the ground. ie: harvest them wet and wash immediately.

With regard rinsing: many of the micro-organisms which are human beneficials take up residence on leaves of plants during the growing processes. Rinsing removes some of them.

If your know HOW your produce is grown you, rinsing may deprive yourself of one of the important benefits of eating locally: the development of your digestive culture nurtured by your local environment. This is in part proven and in part conjecture.
