Re: Will too much iodine ruin my thyroid?

i believe i addressed that already. this is a case of ingesting 50mg of elemental Iodine a day. that is not so good. in 50mg of Iodine from lugols, only one half of that number is elemental iodine. in fact, over one half is in the form of potassium ioDIDE. Iodide is an antioxidant and is preferred by the thyroid so that is what it uses first and not the elemental. 50mg of naked Iodine is a lot for the thyroid to handle. but when the dosage is stopped its gone in a day and the condition reverses.
