i believe this iron problem is one more proof that there was, at one time, a lot more Iodine in the environment and/or our diet. every creature i have ever seen in the presence of Iodine wants it - from ants to mosquitoes to turtles, bees, birds, cats and dogs. i think even plants like it. it used to be ubiquitous and plentiful.
