"3 stool test are negative for cryptosporidium. Of course, that doesn't mean for sure that I don't have it but is an indication that I may not. What was the reason you suggest looking for this particular little monster?"
On standard stool tests they often look for cryptosporidium, Cyclospora (Cyclosporiasis) is not the same parasite. Cyclospora the lab normally only test for if medical doctor request it. Cryptosporidium on other hand is often included in the standard tests.
Cyclospora need PCR or acid fast stain. The + with acid fast stain is that it also can discover other acid fast parasites and bacterias that normally not will show up on standard parasite stool tests.
