may be you also should ask them to test specifically also for cyclospora.

This parasite is known to cause problems.

The problem is to find it the lab normally need to do special stains (acid fast stain typically). If lab tells stool is free of parasites and parasite eggs this normally do not include cyclopora. They need to do acid fast stain or other stain that actually can detect it.

Lab will typically only do this if doctor request it.

It is amazing that it is not standard to test for all of these, even the ones that require special staining techniques when people are chronically ill.

The patient have to request everything if not working with a good doctor.
