Very interesting article Hunter, there is a lot of wisdom in the words.

The spirits/energy that the elders were telling me of, in the lake area, were not spirits or energy from past peoples, but spirits from the beginning of the dreaming, many thousands of years old, from what they say. These are not and have never been human. They are what is called locally Wanjina (not sure if my spelling is right). They told us that because we are not Aboriginal we survived our encounter, but many Aboriginal people would not.

There is bad energy surrounding the sites of Aboriginal massacres, around my area, where several occured, the Aboriginal people do not go near these places, or speak of them.
