thanks so much Chris for all the information and links. It was really helpful. Thanks to everyone else who replied.

I was very confused because seems everyone has all sorts of information and some sound even scary (about starving yourself when still early in the fast)

in response to someone's post regarding nicotine...not sure if this applies to me. I was never a smoking addict...only smoked on occassions. If I buy a pack...it would last me 7-10 days....usually if I go out for wine (rare). But on day 4 I thought to just have one but then I just didn't want it at all...not sure how I will be after the fast...but right now I dream of tomatoes, lettuce, and watermelon....not even thinking about pizza or burgers

I am not as tired as I was before. still tired yes but not like before where it felt like the gravity on earth tripled where I could not even get my body out of bed to even walk to the bathroom or even hold myself up. I am getting up much more easier now. I still have no energy so I cannot exercise and the most walking I can do is 3 blocks if I walk VERY slowly. Walking up the flight of stairs to take the train to work is still a torture....it makes me feel like passing out to the point where I just don't even want to go to work. But I have just 3 or 4 more working days left (not counting weekends) to deal with those stairs.

my tongue is not so heavily coated and I have a very bad taste in my mouth. I'm still losing only a pound a day. Although today I have lost nothing...I remained the same. The terrible hunger I was feeling went away after drinking A LOT of water...so that helped. Have not felt hungry since. I am on day 11. I plan to break either day 16 or 17 because I have to fly overseas and fear I will not be able to handle the layover or long lines at the airport for passport check.

I still have plenty of fat my body can live off of...but I do see the difference in my face and when I look in the mirror side ways. the tummy area is still a little bloated but it's not even flabby...it's pretty solid. my thighs still big...but that too is solid. I was always active so not sure if that has anything to do with this. before the fast I normally walk 40 blocks each day for 5 days.

I'm almost afraid of what will come out of me on my first BM after the fast. I want to break the fast with orange juice diluted with water on the first day. Is it ok to continue the 2nd day with orange juice and later in the day add raw vegetables and/or fruits...or is that too soon?

I'll keep all posted here...so far it's ok...slow weight loss...but these posts make sense now.
