Chia seeds are actually more stable then flax seeds do to the amount of antioxidants present in the seed.As far as grinding goes for chia there is no reason to do this for digestion.Chia needs to be hydrated but does not require grinding.Flax needs both hydration and grinding for optimal usage.Taking a high power blender on the road is easy and fast.Have you tried blending?Sunflower greens are the best tasting sprout green in my opinion.
