Absolutely Hanna,
triglycerides are a marker as well, as calories that are not burnt off as fuel, are stored as fat in the form of triglycerides.

Omega 3's regulate blood lipids, so adequate intake of these EFA's is vital.

Natural Hygiene has always maintained that any excess fat in the body is essentially diseased tissue, and I think we are all aware of the dangers of obesity in relation to disease, including Diabetes Type II.
