Granted - but Atkins nevertheless faired rather horribly, just as it has in numerous other studies. I personally think it is a dangerous diet and have warned about it for years. It got a lot of things right, but fails miserably in the way it has been hyped as an "eat whatever you want so long as you lose the carbs" diet. That is dangerously unhealthy bullcrap!
You can definitely lose weight with Atkins - but you have to stay with the diet to keep the weight off and the longer you stay with it, the more you damage your health and risk taking years off your life. There are much, much better options - and you want likely run your dates off from how horrible your breath and body odor is.
