One last question, how do you feel about melatonin, for relaxation purposes...Not necessarily as a sleep aid, but say 3mg in early evening to help wind down, calm nerves?
Does it have an effect on candida or the liver?
It will not have any real effect on Candida or the liver, but I still am not a fan of melatonin supplementation.
Melatonin is produced in the body in picograms, a 1,000th of the milligram. The average melatonin tablet is 3mg. I don't think substituting hormones at levels thousands of times higher than the body would produce on its own naturally is safe by any means.
Better choices for relaxing are glycine or ashwagandha on an empty stomach.
