How fast does herpes go back into it's latent state? Can it go back into it's latent state so fast that the cold sore will still be there while herpes has ran back home?

Has anyone come across any research papers of any kind that states how fast the virus returns to its "home" (dormant state) after the outbreak? Is it right after the cold sore? Is the virus safely in it's home immediately after the outbreak even while your cold sore is healing? Also does anyone know how to bring the virus out of it's dormant state and keep it out of its dormant state? Any herbs or something like that that can be continuously taken? Triggers? I don't care about what prevents an outbreak but what can trigger it and make all of the virus come out from hiding.If you are wondering why I would want to induce an outbreak instead of suppressing one look at this
