Re: To NevadaSmith and Other Eat to Live Readers
I know Dr. Fuhrman says no salt and he also suggest limiting grapefruit to no more than twice a week.
He is opposed to a number of supplements such as beta carotene and vitamin A as well as vitamin E and folic acid due to various studies that suggest these may not be healthy especially in their synthetic forms. He even has his own prenatal formula without folic acid and says that by eating the right foods you can get all the folate you need.
He says that IF you are eating a strict vegetarian or vegan diet that you should be taking a B12 supplement and also a good DHA supplement as well. He also suggest that taking vitamin D3 would be wise as studies show that most of us are deficient and it is good for so many different things.
Exercise is important and is something that I need to do myself. I don't usually have a bowel movement in the evening either although I don't pay that much attention. I do know that my movements are much healthier. No longer ribbon like but actually look like they came from a healthy colon.
My energy isn't as good as it could be but I believe that to be die to the fact that I don't get enough sleep and I work weird sometimes crazy hours like leaving at 4:30 Am one morning to go to work and then a few days later leaving at 12:30 PM to go to work.
I would suggest becoming a member at Dr. Fuhrmans website and using his forums to ask these questions where you will get answers from more people who subscribe to his protocols and will find all his newsletters and a lot of additional information not found in his books.
