Three Day Post Fast/Refeeding Summary (20 Day Water Fast)

I'm doing very well. As anticipated, I slipped yesterday as I didn't have enough oranges in the house and started munching on a handful of pumpkin seeds. Chewing very, very slowly until it was liquid before swallowing. I didn't experience any ill effects...but that triggered my appetite. I made gluten free pasta for dinner! Put a little apple cider vinegar on it and I digested it okay. It actually made my bowels move doing this. I have no problem talking about eliminations so if you do...stop reading here. I hadn't had a BM the entire 20 day fast. On day 2 of refeeding, I released a ton of mucus and the consistency was very long, wirey, oily and coiled. It was actually a bit fascinating looking at it..."that was inside of me?!!" I didn't see anything moving thank goodness, lol! I felt much lighter afterwards.

This morning I drank 3 liters of water and went to purchase some citrus for juicing which I will stick to for a couple more days, then onto soft fruits and salads.

I have no idea the potential fat loss I experienced or the muscle/fat/water ratio in my body at present, but my clothes are fitting VERY loosely and falling off of me. I have to wear belts or risk embarassment. My primary reason for fasting was to begin healing uterine fibroids which I think are pretty small now and simply to reset my digestive system....be more inclined to stick to eating 80-90% raw foods. I'm having cravings for various types of produce which I won't name here out of courtesy. But I know my intuitive eating capabilities and listening to my body have kicked in once again. On this front the fast was highly successful and I'm elated.

My limitations seem to be around having food in front of me when I break a fast of any kind. Now that I'm aware of this fully I will not judge it and moreso I'll just make sure I prepare myself so that I am not tempted in the future. The next time I Water Fast which will more than likely be for a shorter duration, I will make sure there is no food in the house other than the citrus I need to juice. I know that's the only way I can do it. Also I know I'm a risk taker and when I know I'm not supposed to be doing something, there is something in my nature that propels me to do it anyway...lol...call it impulsive or rebellious. I don't know. But it's almost like I was testing my digestive system after all of the warnings not to eat certain foods right after a water fast. I have a strong system which I know from past bodily trauma & experiences, but I won't push too far. I think there was some unconscious tape playing that said..."oh it doesn't matter, just eat a little of it". And this was another learning. I survived the pasta, but I'm going back to juicing oranges and grapefruits nonetheless! : ) And by the way, I DO NOT recommend doing that. I'm just being completely accountable, open and honest here.

In conclusion, I'm proud of myself for accomplishing this recent Water Fasting goal. I've learned a thing or two about my eating habits and what foods I still need to release in terms of food addictions.

Have a wonderful weekend fasters! If you hit heavy detox, remember there is a brighter rainbow on the other side of the bridge waiting for you with open arms, a smile and regenerated cellular/organ function.
