Re: How would you Iodine believers proceed?
I only have a little time here but I wanted to chime in...
when I first started Iodoral 2 years ago after I saw Brownstein talk in Boulder, I had started at 50mg/day.
for the first two weeks I felt great, recovered from exercise better....which was huge, and I felt more calm.....I was very excited.
At the presentation Hakala Labs was handing out their
Iodine Loading test for free for attendees. So that was my first dose of the Iodine. I also had them test my Bromide too.
My excretion was 89% and my bromide was low. The excretion was right where it should be except I wasn't supplementing Iodine....so it was suspicious....possible transport problem.??????
anyway, two weeks in I started feeling like I was going to get sick, but never quite getting sick. I may have played with the salt/water but I was not doing the companion nutrients.
I got off the
Iodine and I felt better but didn't recover from exercise very well.
Took
Iodine again and exercise better, but felt like getting sick again....messed with dosage drove myself crazy and I didn't read enough here or try to really get some clarity from some of you Iodine experts here like I am now and kind of let it go.
Now I am back on Iodine and finally realizing it just took my body two weeks before I started detoxing. Two months ago I did the serum / saliva Iodine test and my transport is good but my BROMIDE IS HIGH. And with some of my symptoms I am guessing my Fluoride is probably high too....I have some pretty screwed up electrolyte issues.
recently I raised my dose of iodoral from 50 mg to 100 mg and I felt better.
Now I am taking
SSKI .
I worked it up probably too fast and my kidneys were not happy last week. So now I am working up that dosage a little more slowly.
anyway, there is a lot more I can say, but later
except that I know this is going to be a ride through the detox and I just have to hang in there.
Some naturopath friends got me all scared that I had induce Hashimoto's so I did a full Thyroid panel. Everything is fine. They are all nervous about Iodine because they have had some clients have bad reactions and they both are taking classes with some Doc that is teaching workshops about Thryoid treatment and how careful they need to be about inducing Hashimotos with Iodine. But it is clear they don't get the detox thing and how long it might take for some people to detox.
Some of us are slow detoxers.
After Brownstein's talk I went up and talked with him and he told me he monitored his bromide levels regularly before and after he started taking Iodine. His bromide spiked high after he started Iodine. It Stayed high for 4 years before it dropped low again.....he was feeling a lot better not too long after taking the starting the Iodine even though he still had a lot of Bromide
Not trying to scare you with that, just sharing because for me it helps me stayed focused that I may have a journey>
well gotta go
