Re: Do probiotics help cure?

Probiotics do not implant or establish colonies in the GI tract. They are of short term benefit that only help some people sometimes, ie with digestion, elimination, and so forth. No manufatured probiotic or cultured food bacteria is capable of establishing residence in the GI tract because they are the wrong species and and it is a highly competitive area with no receptor sites available. It is a very hostile area for bacteria to get established. If a probiotic manufaturer claims there bacteria will implant, then they are either misinformed or the are telling a lie, plain and simple. I wish it were different, but this is the way it is.
