I'm pretty sure from years of working in vitamin stores that most people don't get nearly enough minerals, and those that do take mineral supplements may not be taking the best forms ( drug store brand calciums for example are not absorbable as good chelates and food forms found in natural food markets) Bone healing requires higher than normal intake of full spectrum of minerals. You can't repair a damaged wall in your home without drywall compound....same with the body...which needs minerals (plus vitamin D) to repair bones & nerves.
